New trail on Oregon's North Coast at Nestucca Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Updated information and photos from Sept 2008 trip to Kittitas and Yakima Counties in South Central Washington. Now that Oregon is added to the site it is time to rely on others for trip reports to help keep this updated. I welcome comments and additions from other folks with disabilities and from the managers of state and federal trails that are contained on this web site.

Featured Hike Play the video at right to view some of the trail scenes from Oregon's Columbia Gorge Twin Tunnels trail between Moiser and Hood River. This trail is part of the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail, created from abandoned segments of the Historic Columbia River Highway. The road was originally built from 1913 to 1922, linking Portland with The Dalles. It was replaced by I-84 in the 1950s. Although some of the original highway was destroyed with the advent of the new freeway, dozens of fragments, representing nearly 50% of the original highway were abandoned or bypassed.
